Update on RAAC (Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete)
We hope you had a lovely Summer break. It has been great to welcome our young people back on to our site this morning.
Following the significant national news coverage, we wanted to confirm that Bay House School is free from RAAC (Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete). The DfE survey team visited the school over the summer break and have reported no RAAC in any of our buildings.
We wish to thank our site and IT teams who have been working hard over the summer to make improvements to our site including refurbishment of a number of classrooms and corridors, improved signage and upgraded IT systems. We look forward to the planned building works commencing later this academic year and continue to work closely with the DfE team and our contractor Kier. We will be sharing updates about this work over the course of the year in the build up (no pun intended) to the start date currently planned to be the Summer holiday 2024. All information about this work can be found on our website by clicking here.
Thank you for your continued support.
