Headteacher’s Message

Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,

It is with immense pleasure that I welcome you to King’s Academy Bay House and King’s Academy Bay House Sixth Form.

Our commitment is to deliver an exceptional education, driven by our bold mission: to secure ‘Opportunity and Success on a Global Stage‘ for every member of our community. We are dedicated to providing the knowledge, skills, and character development needed to thrive anywhere in the world.

This ambitious mission is built upon the foundation of our three core values: Honesty, Courage, and Faith. These values shape the ethos of happiness, success, and safety that thrives in every corner of our Academy.

Our Values in Action

  • Honesty – We prioritise behaviours that promote transparency and truthfulness, always seeking what is best for all at KABH. We debate ideas openly and are not afraid to recognise mistakes, understanding that they are essential for learning and growth. This culture of open honesty ensures everyone feels happy, successful, and safe, able to express their thoughts and ideas without fear.
  • Courage – We instil the courage needed to face challenges head-on and adapt. This means we embrace diversity and champion inclusivity, creating a truly welcoming place. We demonstrate courage by engaging fully with feedback through resilience and self-regulation, and by being happy to ask questions when we are not sure. This is how we push beyond our perceived limits.
  • Faith – We hold an unwavering belief in the difference we can all make. Faith underpins our culture of safety; we are trusting and respectful to our whole community, making it safe to share concerns and make mistakes. We encourage others through kindness to have faith in their own abilities, knowing that resilience and self-regulation will fuel their curiosity and exploration.

Securing Excellence Together

Excellence at KABH is a journey we embark on together. Our passionate educators provide a challenging and stimulating academic environment, equipping you with the personalised skills necessary to excel academically and in the world beyond these walls.

As the Headteacher, I am excited to lead this journey with you. Together, grounded in Honesty, Courage, and Faith, we continue to drive outstanding Opportunity and Success on a Global Stage for our whole community.

Warm regards,

Chris Willis – Headteacher – King’s Academy Bay House

KABH Students Share Their Musical Talents with the Community

A group of our talented KABH students recently had the privilege of performing live at Elson Junior School's Prom, helping to make the evening a truly memorable celebration for their Year 6 pupils.

Our KABH student musicians performed a selection of live music throughout the evening, creating a fantastic atmosphere and showcasing not only their musical talents but also their professionalism, confidence and commitment to supporting the local community.

Opportunities like this allow KABH students to perform for live audiences, develop their confidence and use their talents to make a positive impact beyond the classroom. It was wonderful to see them representing King's Academy Bay House with such enthusiasm, maturity and pride.

A huge congratulations to all of our KABH students who took part. They were fantastic ambassadors for the school and should be incredibly proud of the role they played in making the evening so special.

Thank you to Elson Junior School for inviting our students to be part of such a wonderful celebration.

Year 9 Help Our School Flourish

This year, our Year 9 Gardening Club, led by Ms Harlan, has been hard at work transforming our school grounds into vibrant, colourful spaces for everyone to enjoy.

Using our Victorian greenhouses, students have carefully grown a wide variety of spring and summer flowers from seed before planting them around the school site. With fantastic support from Glenn and Jamie in our Estates Team, they have helped brighten up key areas of the school grounds, creating a welcoming environment for our whole school community.

As part of the club, students also enjoyed a visit to RHS Garden Wisley, where they developed their gardening knowledge, discovered new planting ideas and gained inspiration to bring back to Bay House.

We are incredibly proud of the commitment, teamwork and care these students have shown throughout the year. Their hard work has made a lasting impact on our school, and the results speak for themselves.

A huge well done to everyone involved—and thank you for helping KABH bloom! 🌼💚
