Headteacher’s Message

Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,

It is with immense pleasure that I welcome you to King’s Academy Bay House and King’s Academy Bay House Sixth Form.

Our commitment is to deliver an exceptional education, driven by our bold mission: to secure ‘Opportunity and Success on a Global Stage‘ for every member of our community. We are dedicated to providing the knowledge, skills, and character development needed to thrive anywhere in the world.

This ambitious mission is built upon the foundation of our three core values: Honesty, Courage, and Faith. These values shape the ethos of happiness, success, and safety that thrives in every corner of our Academy.

Our Values in Action

  • Honesty – We prioritise behaviours that promote transparency and truthfulness, always seeking what is best for all at KABH. We debate ideas openly and are not afraid to recognise mistakes, understanding that they are essential for learning and growth. This culture of open honesty ensures everyone feels happy, successful, and safe, able to express their thoughts and ideas without fear.
  • Courage – We instil the courage needed to face challenges head-on and adapt. This means we embrace diversity and champion inclusivity, creating a truly welcoming place. We demonstrate courage by engaging fully with feedback through resilience and self-regulation, and by being happy to ask questions when we are not sure. This is how we push beyond our perceived limits.
  • Faith – We hold an unwavering belief in the difference we can all make. Faith underpins our culture of safety; we are trusting and respectful to our whole community, making it safe to share concerns and make mistakes. We encourage others through kindness to have faith in their own abilities, knowing that resilience and self-regulation will fuel their curiosity and exploration.

Securing Excellence Together

Excellence at KABH is a journey we embark on together. Our passionate educators provide a challenging and stimulating academic environment, equipping you with the personalised skills necessary to excel academically and in the world beyond these walls.

As the Headteacher, I am excited to lead this journey with you. Together, grounded in Honesty, Courage, and Faith, we continue to drive outstanding Opportunity and Success on a Global Stage for our whole community.

Warm regards,

Chris Willis – Headteacher – King’s Academy Bay House

🌱 Sustainability Takes Center Stage at KABH!
Today was an absolutely unmissable day at King’s Academy Bay House! Our students dived headfirst into the world of sustainability and local creativity, proving that the next generation isn't just waiting for change—they’re designing it.

🚀 Highlights from the Day:
🎨 Branding the Future: Gosport Routes
Students tapped into their creative side for the Gosport Routes Logo Design Competition. This 3-year initiative is dedicated to sparking creativity in young people across Gosport. The stakes are high: the winning design will become the official logo for the entire programme as new projects launch throughout the year!

🏗️ The £1 Million Challenge: Sustainable School Design
How would you spend £1,000,000 to make a new school greener? Students worked on innovative architectural designs, balancing a high-stakes budget with eco-friendly solutions to introduce sustainable elements into our school environment.

🤖 AI for the Planet: Tech Presentation
We explored the cutting edge of conservation with a presentation on AI Sustainability. Students learned how Artificial Intelligence is becoming a vital tool in recording real-time changes to our rainforests and global waters, allowing scientists to track and protect our planet more effectively than ever before.

🎤 Expert Insights: Paula Malone
The Main Hall was buzzing for our guest speaker, Paula Malone. As a dedicated Climate Change Consultant, Paula shared her deep specialism in environmental advocacy. She spoke passionately about integrating climate education into everything we do—from our daily curriculum to the way we manage our campus.

🚮 Year 7 Environmental Exploration
Our Year 7 students brought environmental thinking closer to home by exploring the school grounds. Through class litter picks, they took active responsibility for their surroundings. It was fantastic to see them getting involved and showing such genuine pride in their school environment.

🏆 The Sustainability Quiz
To wrap things up and put their knowledge to the test, students got involved in a fast-paced Sustainability Quiz. It was a brilliant way to see just how much they learned about protecting our world throughout the day!

Whiteboard-tastic Tuesday in Action!

As part of our Whiteboard-tastic Tuesday, learners have been making great use of their mini whiteboards and pens across a wide range of activities and challenges.

From quick learning checks in Physics and retrieval calculations in Chemistry, to debate planning in English and A Level Sociology students mapping out their answers—there’s been some fantastic engagement across subjects.

We’re looking forward to seeing even more mini whiteboards in action tomorrow!
