Headteacher’s Message

Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,

It is with immense pleasure that I welcome you to King’s Academy Bay House and King’s Academy Bay House Sixth Form.

Our commitment is to deliver an exceptional education, driven by our bold mission: to secure ‘Opportunity and Success on a Global Stage‘ for every member of our community. We are dedicated to providing the knowledge, skills, and character development needed to thrive anywhere in the world.

This ambitious mission is built upon the foundation of our three core values: Honesty, Courage, and Faith. These values shape the ethos of happiness, success, and safety that thrives in every corner of our Academy.

  • Honesty – We prioritise behaviours that promote transparency and truthfulness, always seeking what is best for all at KABH. We debate ideas openly and are not afraid to recognise mistakes, understanding that they are essential for learning and growth. This culture of open honesty ensures everyone feels happy, successful, and safe, able to express their thoughts and ideas without fear.
  • Courage – We instil the courage needed to face challenges head-on and adapt. This means we embrace diversity and champion inclusivity, creating a truly welcoming place. We demonstrate courage by engaging fully with feedback through resilience and self-regulation, and by being happy to ask questions when we are not sure. This is how we push beyond our perceived limits.
  • Faith – We hold an unwavering belief in the difference we can all make. Faith underpins our culture of safety; we are trusting and respectful to our whole community, making it safe to share concerns and make mistakes. Creative Collaboration Returns with Mark Kellett

We were delighted to welcome local artist Mark Kellett back into school to continue working with students on an exciting creative project 🎨

Students were given the opportunity to experiment with spray paint techniques and develop their own artwork using this bold and unpredictable medium. It was fantastic to see students embracing the challenge, exploring new creative approaches and producing some impressive outcomes.

Working with spray paint offered students a completely different artistic experience, encouraging them to take risks, adapt their ideas and build confidence with a new and exciting media.

The sessions continue to form part of a wider community project linked to Gosport, with students’ ideas helping to influence the design of a future public mural later this year.

A huge thank you to Mark for once again inspiring our students and sharing his expertise and creativity with them.

Five of our incredible Bay House students travelled to Buckingham Palace to celebrate achieving their Gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards 🌟

Under thankfully dry skies, the students attended a special garden party hosted by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh himself. Alongside tea, cupcakes and inspirational speakers, they had the opportunity to reflect on the immense determination, commitment and resilience required to complete all five sections of the prestigious award.

Achieving a Gold DofE Award is an outstanding accomplishment, and we are incredibly proud of the dedication and hard work our students have shown throughout their journey.

Congratulations to all of our Gold Award achievers — a truly memorable and well-deserved celebration!

Recognising Achievement and Kindness Across the School

This week’s Hot Chocolate Friday celebrated a fantastic range of student achievements, positive attitudes and acts of kindness across the school.

Students were recognised for achievements including outstanding progress in lessons, resilience and determination during Bronze DofE expeditions, excellent leadership, musical success, and consistently positive behaviour and engagement in learning.

We also celebrated students who demonstrated kindness, teamwork and support for their peers in lessons, helping to create a positive and encouraging classroom environment.

Well done to all of the students recognised this week — we are incredibly proud of your efforts and the contributions you make to our school community.
