Thank you for your understanding and support today regarding the fault with our fire alarm system.
I am pleased to confirm that school will reopen as normal tomorrow, Friday 24th October, for the last day of this half term.
Our internal site staff, Kier (the developers overseeing the school rebuild), and two teams of fire alarm engineers have worked tirelessly throughout the day to resolve the issue. Extensive safety testing was carried out this afternoon.
Year 11 PPE exams will proceed tomorrow as originally scheduled. Exams that were due to take place today will be rescheduled for Monday 3rd November.
Kind regards,
Mr C Willis

UPDATE:
Thank you for your support and understanding this morning.
The fire alarm is still not fully operational and engineers are working to resolve the issue.
The school site will remain closed to all pupils and staff today and we will provide an update about tomorrow by 3pm.
Pupils are encouraged to access their work via google classroom and apps. Teachers have been asked to post additional work for today’s missed lessons but we appreciate some will have had to make alternative arrangements to travel etc.
I’d like to express my thanks to all staff, and in particular the site team, in what has been a very challenging morning.
I remain hopeful that we will be able to welcome everyone back onsite first thing tomorrow,
Kind regards,
C WIllis
Good Morning,
Overnight and this morning we have experienced a fault in a fire alarm system. The engineers have been working to identify and fix the fault but this is not currently operational and therefore it is not safe to open school to our pupils and staff.
We will provide an update at 10.30 but it is possible that school will remain shut all day.
I am aware that there is a Year 10, Geography trip offsite which can go ahead as normal.
We are sorry for the late notice but the safety of our community is, of course, paramount.
Kind regards,
Mr C Willis
