🌟 PROPOSED CLOSURE OF STUBBINGTON STUDY CENTRE 🌟

Dear Parents and Families,

We have received news that Hampshire County Council is proposing to close Stubbington Study Centre at the end of this school year. The centre, which has been a cherished part of our community for nearly 90 years, may be replaced with a secure unit for 18 young people aged 10 to 18 years.

Each year, 4,200 children enjoy residential stays, and 1,800 participate in day visits at Stubbington. Its closure would leave a significant void for children across Hampshire, Southampton, Portsmouth, and around 100 schools in the Solent region. Generations of children have benefitted from the centre’s unique environment, modern facilities, and the care and expertise of its dedicated staff.

Parents and families are welcome to take part in the consultation process before 10th February.

This morning, we conducted a practice fire drill to ensure everyone knows the steps to safely evacuate in case of an emergency. Our pupils showcased impeccable behaviour, focus, and teamwork throughout the process, and we couldn’t be prouder!

We’re excited to share some impressive drone footage that highlights how smoothly the whole school evacuation went.

Here’s to keeping our school community happy, successful, and safe—every step of the way!
