Welcome to King’s Academy Bay House Year 6
Year 6Today, we were delighted to welcome our new Year 6 pupils for their Transition Day!
The day began with everyone coming together for morning line-up before heading off to enjoy a range of exciting activities. It's a fantastic opportunity for pupils to experience the subjects, routines, and opportunities that will be waiting for them when they join us in September.
It's been a brilliant start to the day, and we can't wait to see all that this wonderful year group will achieve as part of the King's Academy Bay House community.

Warm Weather Reminder for Next Week
With warmer weather forecast again next week, we’d like to remind our school community of a few simple ways we can all stay safe and comfortable during the school day. ☀️
We kindly ask parents and carers to support their child by ensuring they:
- Apply sun cream before school and bring some to reapply if needed.- Bring a sun hat or cap.
- Bring a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day.
- Seek shade during break and lunchtime.- Avoid vigorous exercise during the warmest parts of the day where possible.
To help everyone stay cool, students may continue to wear their PE kit until the end of term.
PE Kit Expectations:- King’s Academy Bay House house-coloured polo shirt- Black or dark blue shorts, leggings or tracksuit bottoms (minimal logos only)- Suitable trainers
Please note that tight-fitting cycling shorts (e.g. Nike Pro shorts) and excessively short shorts are not permitted.
Thank you for your continued support in helping us keep our students safe and comfortable during the warm weather.

Year 9 Begin Their Guangzhou Adventure
Our Year 9 Mandarin Excellence Programme pupils have safely arrived in Guangzhou, where they have been warmly welcomed by Jinan University as part of their intensive study programme. 🇨🇳
Already, pupils have immersed themselves in Chinese culture, taking part in traditional folk sports and activities while beginning to experience everyday life in one of China’s most vibrant cities.
With the help of their fantastic tour guide, pupils have explored some of Guangzhou’s most famous landmarks, including the beautiful Chen Clan Ancestral Hall and the city’s impressive financial district, where they enjoyed their first glimpse of the iconic Canton Tower and its spectacular skyline.
Of course, no visit to China would be complete without sampling the local cuisine, and our students have already enjoyed their first taste of authentic Chinese food.
This is just the beginning of what promises to be an unforgettable experience of language, culture and international learning. We look forward to sharing more updates as their journey continues!
