Admissions Appeals Process

Admission Timetable for Year 7 in September 2024

Notification date for on-time applicants March 1st 2024
Deadline date for parents/ carers wishing to lodge an appeal
(returning completed appeal papers to the school)
Thursday 28th March 2024
Year 7 appeal hearings to be held From 13th – 24th May 2024
Decision letters to be sent Within 5 school days of hearing

Please note:

(i)    Appeals for admission into Year 7 entry in September will be heard from May onwards. A timetable for these appeals is published on our GFM Website. For in year admissions, we will endeavour to hear these within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged. For appeals lodged after 20th June, hearings will be scheduled from two weeks after the start of the autumn term in September.

(ii)    Following the lodging of an appeal, additional evidence papers may be submitted to the GFM Admissions Officer – deadline dates for this will be advised during the appeal process. Evidence submitted after the date advised may not be considered in your case.

Transport to School

Please click here for the link to Hampshire County Council’s website, which provides information for parents who wish to apply for transport to school. Applications should be submitted to the Passenger Transport Group as soon as possible. This is to allow time for the applications to be processed by the beginning of the autumn term. Applications received after the end of JUNE may be subject to delay. Parents will normally be notified of transport arrangements during the summer holidays.
