Our Offer:

  • We aim to minimise disruption to pupils’ learning journeys.
  • Students should regularly check their Google Classroom for work set by their teachers.
  • For those unable to attend school due to illness but who can still work, resources from the Oak National Academy at Oak National Academy are available to support learning.

Support for Learning at Home:

  • We strive to overcome any barriers to learning and afford all learners the opportunity to complete their work to the best of their ability.
  • Our plan seeks to support our children’s social, emotional, and mental health needs.

Educational Provision Plans: We understand that children may need to learn from home for various reasons. Please refer to the information below based on different absence scenarios.

  1. Illness but Able to Work (e.g., fractured leg):
If a child is unable to attend school due to illness but is able to complete schoolwork, they should:

    • Check Google Classroom regularly, as teachers will upload lesson resources from their usual in-school lessons wherever possible.
    • Supplement their learning with materials from the Oak Academy, an online classroom created by teachers.
  2. Whole School Closure:
In the event of a school closure, children will follow their timetable or may receive an alternative timetable. They should:

    • Check Google Classroom for lesson resources uploaded by their teachers.
    • Participate in streamed (live) or pre-recorded lessons as communicated via the Google Classroom stream.
    • Use materials from the Oak Academy to enhance their learning.

Contingency:

  • Navigating Google Classroom: For assistance, please refer to our Google Quick Start Guides.
  • No Access to Google Classroom? Oak Academy is available to all learners throughout the academic year, providing teaching and learning resources across all curriculum areas.
  • No Access to a Device? If your child lacks access to a PC, laptop, or internet, it is the responsibility of parents/carers to inform the school to discuss alternative arrangements.

Communication:
Students can email their teachers regarding any queries or concerns. Teachers will endeavour to respond as quickly as possible.
