Religious Studies

Religious Studies

Key Stage 4 – GCSE

We deliver the AQA specification.  We focus on the options of Christianity and Islam. The themes we consider include:

  • Relationships and families.
  • Religion and life.
  • Religion, peace and conflict.
  • Religion, human rights and social justice.

We aim to help learners gain experiences of talking to people from different religions and arrange trips and visits. These pictures show our learners meeting an Imam at a local Mosque.

Key Stage 5 – A level

We deliver the OCR specification at A-Level. The course focuses on Philosophy, Ethics and Christianity. The units covered are:

“It’s not just all about religion, it’s a lot more interesting and you learn about things like the big bang theory and evolution.” (FE, Yr10)

“I love RE because it allows me to learn about the religions of different people within society” (CL Yr 11)
